OUR SERVICES
WHO WE SERVE
Mid-East Community Action Agency (MECAA) serves individuals and families who are experiencing poverty or struggling to meet basic needs. Our agency is dedicated to supporting low-income families, providing early childhood education through Head Start programs, and offering vital services to seniors. We work to address the immediate needs of the community—such as housing, food, and healthcare access—while also helping people build long-term stability and self-sufficiency. By focusing on education, family support, and senior wellness, we aim to empower every person we serve to live with dignity, opportunity, and hope.
Head Start & Early Head Start
Head Start’s mission is to promote the school readiness of young children from low-income families by supporting their cognitive, social, and emotional development. The program provides a strong foundation for lifelong learning through early education, health and nutrition services, and family support.

Agency Program Services

MECAA offers a series of one-time services that are designed to help individuals and families during times of urgent need. These services may include emergency food, rent or utility assistance, transportation vouchers, or referrals to other local resources. These programs offer vital support during crisis situations, helping individuals stabilize their circumstances and avoid further hardship.

Senior Citizen Services
Senior Citizen Services at MECAA are designed to help older adults live healthy, independent, and connected lives. These services support seniors by addressing their daily needs and enhancing their quality of life. Programs may include home- delivered or congregate meals, transportation assistance, wellness checks, and access to community resources. Social activities and educational programs are also offered to help reduce isolation and keep seniors mentally and physically active.
