Mid-East Community Action Agency is a private non-profit agency providing assistance to citizens in Roane County and Loudon County, Tennessee. Presently Accepting Applications for the Following:

Information Systems Manager (Hardware – Systems)

Purpose of Position:  Provide information systems support to enable staff to take better advantage of technology for efficiency and quality improvements by providing systems support to all levels of agency operations and employees in all facets of agency operations.  Interfaces with outside resources to provide advanced information systems support and consultation.  Diagnoses and repairs hardware and software problems in support of agency operations either telephonically, remotely and/or on-site.  Responsible for network hardware and software, e-mail and intranet and all issues related to use of computer technology.  Responsible for policies relating to technology and equipment in agency.  Responsible for equipment inventory.  Trouble shoots problems related to MS Office and associate products.  Backs up operating systems consistent with internal processes.

 Accountabilities:

  • Installs, configures and supports agency network, E-mail and Internet systems
  • Inspects, installs, repairs and maintains computer equipment, computer printers, copiers, fax machines, telephone systems, video systems and their associated devicesCollege graduate or equivalent plus five years training or experience in network and computer repair/maintenance, as well as experience in Windows Server environment and Microsoft Exchange Server; prefer Associates degree in Computer Information Systems or related field or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of working principles of network, email and computer systems, the ability to repair, maintain and install network and computer equipment
  •  
  • Checks and tests equipment and identifies maintenance needs
  • Installs new software, cabling or interconnecting equipment
  • Maintain and upgrades software
  • Manage Security Systems
  • Plans, designs, installs and maintains new systems
  • Designs and supports server systems and supporting software
  • Administers, creates and updates website for agency
  • Performs preventive maintenance on equipment and performs systems backup and recovery
  • Maintain inventory of all technology stock, supplies and parts
  • Assists with ordering software, hardware and other computer related components
  • Answers staff and clients’ inquiries in person and/or via telephone concerning the usage of computer hardware and software, including printing, word-processing, electronic mail, internet and operating systems
  • Maintain and assures that upgrades are installed on all software
  • Performs related work as assigned

Special, Knowledge or Skill Requirement:

  • College graduate or equivalent plus five years training or experience in network and computer repair/maintenance, as well as experience in Windows Server environment and Microsoft Exchange Server; prefer Associates degree in Computer Information Systems or related field or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of working principles of network, email and computer systems, the ability to repair, maintain and install network and computer equipment
  • Exercise good judgment in evaluating problem situations and solutions
  • Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with all parties associated with the agency
  • Position may require occasional evening and Saturday work and the ability to lift and move computer related equipment to various locations
  • Position requires travel as defined by the Agency Executive Director
  • Experienced with multi-facility environment
  • Professional image, attitude and actions at all times
  • Proper handling of confidential information
  • Valid Tennessee driver’s license is required

HEAD START POSITIONS

 PreK Teacher: Teacher License with Pre-K endorsement and experience working with preschool children required.

 Head Start Teacher:  minimum requirements: AA in Early Childhood Education and experience in an early childhood development setting is required.

SENIOR NUTRITION PROGRAM

Site Hostess for Senior Nutrition program - some experience in food service preferred; duties include packing home delivered meals, serving lunch, clean-up, limited paperwork; Monday through Friday, 9:00 am until 12 noon

Van Driver  for Senior Nutrition program - must have Tennessee Driver License with F endorsement or ability to obtain; requires delivering meals to the elderly and transporting senior citizens to meal locations; routes are approximately 4-5 hours per day  Monday through Friday

Substitute Site Hostesses and Van Drivers for Senior Nutrition program - call in as needed when regular Hostess or Driver is out - see above position descriptions

EARLY HEAD START / HEAD START PROGRAMS

Pre-K Teacher minimum qualifications - Teacher License with PreK endorsement; experience working in an early childhood educational setting with four year olds required; full time position

Head Start Preschool Teacher  minimum qualifications - AA in Early Childhood Education ; experience in early childhood educational setting with three and four year olds required; full-time position 

Early Head Start Teacher  minimum qualifications - Infant Toddler CDA  experience in early childhood development setting with infants and toddlers required; educational, social services, and health responsibilities are included; full-time position                                                                      

Head Start Assistant Teacher  minimum qualifications - agency approved High School Diploma or GED (prefer CDA or AA in Early Childhood Education);  experience with preschool children and/or infants and toddlers;  full-time position

Head Start Home Visitor minimum qualifications - agency approved High School Diploma or GED (prefer AA in Social Services or Early Childhood Education); experience working with children and families; full- time position 

Head Start Family Service Worker and/or Home Visitor minimum qualifications - agency approved High School Diploma or GED (prefer AA in Social Services or Early Childhood Education; prefer bilingual in English and Spanish; experience working with children and families; full-time position

Food Service Associate minimum qualifications - agency approved High School Diploma or GED; one to two years experience in the following areas:  preparing large quantities of home style meals that follow appropriate nutritional guidelines (CACFP/USDA) and meets special dietary requirements; full-time position

Head Start Bus Drivers minimum qualifications - agency approved High School Diploma or GED; requires Commercial Driver License, bus driving experience preferred, full- time and part-time for Roane and Loudon Counties 

Substitute Teaching Assistants minimum qualifications - agency approved High School Diploma or GED; experience working with children; temporary as needed call-in positions; willing to work flexible hours

Bilinguals Fluent in English and Spanish are preferred in positions listed for Head Start. Full-time positions have employee benefits.
